Peru's agro-export economy and the working-capital gap
Peru is one of the world's leading suppliers of high-value agricultural exports. Its agro-export economy spans commercial farms, processing and packing operations, and the logistics and supply chains that connect them to international markets.
Yet established agro-exporters frequently face working-capital gaps that traditional banking does not fully address — financing tied to specific production cycles, trade flows, and supply-chain relationships rather than collateral alone. These gaps can constrain production, delay fulfilment of confirmed export contracts, and limit liquidity across the supply chain.
Fund I is designed to address these gaps through structured private credit, complementing — not replacing — exporters' existing banking relationships.
Three complementary instruments, one value chain
Pre-shipment trade finance
Financing the production and preparation cycle before export — working capital tied to confirmed offtake or export contracts, supporting growers and exporters through the production cycle.
Post-shipment trade finance
Financing the receivable created once goods are shipped, bridging the gap between delivery and buyer payment so exporters can redeploy capital into the next cycle.
Supply chain finance
Purchasing supplier receivables to provide liquidity across an agro-exporter's supply chain, strengthening the broader productive ecosystem around each exporter.
Disciplined, transaction-level credit
Fund I emphasizes responsible credit underwriting and transaction-level risk controls. Capital is deployed against identified working-capital gaps, with structures designed to complement exporters' existing banking relationships.
- Responsible credit underwriting
- Transaction-level risk controls
